Is it mean for me to put my kitten in my bathroom for part of the night?

I'm 18 years old and a student. I have to get up very early and stay up late! I adopted a 4 month old kitten from the pound, but she's very frisky and is very excitable certain times at night. She is pouncing, crying and knocking things over while I am trying to sleep. I have to put her in the bathroom, where she has all her toys, a soft rug, kitty bed and litterbox. I just feel so bad! I have a studio so I can't just keep her outside my room. Is this mean?
